I typically sketch using a pen and leveler on the canvas before paint application. I step back a dozen times in the process to sense visual imbalances. I build upon the undesirable creations by joining them with desirable ones. Each section synergizes with its proximity. A result is a continuous flow of choices, both intentional and unintentional. My work is similar to design. The only difference is my creations are unique investigations of design...a metadesign, if I may. I explore aesthetic commonalities not bound by specific cultural dispositions.
