The full name is "The Traditional Game of Gender". In my college years, my goal was to cultivate philosophical, societal, and psychological concepts through surreal figures and landscapes.
art critic: All your realism oil paintings are awesome!
arnisto Thx
art critic:: But ones like Traditional Game.... i cannot understand that
art critic: Although, you're really good with colors and shading/transitions
arnisto: Hehehe..I'll add explanations for the Surrealism paintings
arnisto: The painting you are referring to is actually all about the human relationships
arnisto: The courting involved in dating
art critic:I see the chess piece
art critic: The pawn
arnisto: Men fighting with industry, business, and other men for women
art critic: Almost like a struggle for a "fair maiden"
arnisto: Exactly
arnisto: Women show their mystique
art critic: Whats that "tunnel" near the leg of one of the bodies?
arnisto: The tunnel reveals the ability of the game piece to shelter or support a wandering woman
arnisto The game piece is the financial stability of a man's traditional gender role which is to make money, be stable in the game of life
arnisto: ...provide security for woman
art critic: Colorful description......
arnisto: I painted it in school. The emphasis was on conceptual art...I didn't last too long in this genre...commentary art sometimes compromises visual beauty and creates a chaotic environment that can be negative
art critic: my interpretation is much simpler.
art critic: i see the chess piece and the female underneath it.
art critic: i see the struggle by the 2 bodies....
art critic: to me, in my frame of mind..... life is like a chess game
art critic: 2 guys struggle for a female...
art critic: who is essentially a "pawn"........ a sacraficial piece in the game of chess
art critic: some people call them worthless.
art critic: some people call them powerful cuz its necessary to set up the victory.
arnisto: I like your interpretation
art critic: hehe, maybe cuz I'm screwed up in the head right now...
art critic: the title is wonderful. Traditional Game.
art critic: tradition can be both positive and negative
arnisto: thank you...you've shed some new light on the painting
art critic: this is a wonderful piece.... i just notice the "sky" background too.
arnisto: yes..traditions are hard to break...they are rules of the game
art critic: half of it is clear and the second half is gloomy.
arnisto: exactly..just like a relationship
art critic: and life
arnisto: the best part of the day is when it is changing to night
art critic: yes...and for some people, the best part of the day is the break of dawn.
art critic: awesome piece. I like it
