Ceramic with oil paint 18"x9"x7" 1996 The concept is embedded in current ideologies of Darwinism and Christianity. "Sea Battle" is a mixture of automobile ornamentation and creative symbolism. Society battles with the idea of evolution and the spiritual idea of Christianity. This enduring aspect of society is imaginitively depicted in a dramatic struggle between a sea anenome and a fish. The cross in the fish's eye represents blind faith, the building block of religion. This piece was strongly influenced by Robert Arneson's work and the Funk Art movement.
