"Heal" was featured at the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek, CA during the Shikishi Exhibition 2002-2003.
At a Pentagon news conference, Rumsfeld was asked about a poll that indicated nearly 70 percent of respondents believed the Iraqi leader probably was personally involved.
"I've not seen any indication that would lead me to believe that I could say that," Rumsfeld said.
The Bush administration has asserted that Saddam's government had links to al-Qaida, the terrorist network led by Osama bin Laden (news - web sites) that masterminded the Sept. 11 attacks. And in various public statements over the past year or so administration officials have suggested close links.
"Heal" was created to commemorate the people who have suffered from the events during September 11, 2001. The red vertical bars represent the U.S. World Trade Center towers. Their red color are significant of the physical and psychological wounds caused by the tragedy. The surrounding light green represents the hope and recovery the world has and will achieve. The text "the Healing has" represents the use of American propaganda to promote the invasion of Iraq. Although no evidence has been found to link the terrorists involved in the events of 911 with Saddam Hussein or other Baath party members of Iraq, the Bush Administration successfully convinced Americans to scapegoat Iraq's dictatorship for the deaths on September 11th. As a result, 1,252 Iraqi citizens, thousands of Iraqi troops, hundreds of coalition troops have been killed during the invasion of Iraq. Billions of dollars have been spent on the War. Evidence of nuclear weapons have not been found. Osama Bin Laden has not been found. Hundreds of thousands of citizens against Saddam Hussein's dictatorship have protested the U.S. occupation of Iraq. Is the action of the U.S. for the defense of American civilians? Is it cowardice to abuse our military arsenal before anything is justified?
